5 Pairs of Summer Shorts for Thick-Leg Girlies That You Will Wear All Season Long

We are not overcomplicating this. Finding the perfect pair of shorts when you’ve got thicker legs can feel like a whole ordeal—but not today. I’m bringing you five (literally just five, so this is super digestible) pairs of shorts that are going to be on rotation in my wardrobe all summer long. These are tried-and-true, thick-leg approved, and ready to make your warm-weather outfit planning effortless.

Let’s get into it!

1. The “Dani” Short from Free People

Summer Shorts You Need: Dani Shorts

Listen, this silhouette is everything. These shorts are oversized, baggy, and just the perfect amount of relaxed. I love that they’re loose around the legs, giving that effortless, breezy feel without any uncomfortable squeezing. The shape leans A-line, and the cuff is sewn-in for a structured yet easygoing vibe. I have them in this gorgeous khaki cream color, and I wear them non-stop. If you want a pair of shorts that look just as good with a basic tank as they do with a cute button-up, these are it.

2. Levi’s High Rise-Baggy Shorts

You can never go wrong with a classic pair of Levi’s. They are timeless, classy, and never go out of style. The High-Baggy shorts are my go-to for that relaxed, vintage-inspired look. I love the distressed, light denim wash—so fun and versatile. And let me tell you, if it’s not a 3-5 inch inseam, I don’t want it! These sit super high-waisted, well over the belly button, and give that perfect amount of slouch while still feeling structured.

3. Abercrombie High Rise Loose Shorts

If you want comfort, these are the softest shorts I have ever put on my body. Abercrombie really nailed it with these. They have a frayed bottom, come in different washes, and fit like that perfect, broken-in pair of shorts you’ve had for years. They hug in all the right places without feeling tight, and the lived-in feel makes them an easy choice for everyday wear.

4. Abercrombie A-Line Shorts

These shorts are WIDE—and that’s why I love them. The A-line silhouette is so flattering because it gives your legs room to breathe while still cinching in at the right places. These aren’t quite as high-rise as the others, sitting more at a mid-rise, but they still hit right at my belly button. If you’re looking for something a little different from the typical high-rise look, these are an amazing option.

5. Levi’s 80s Mom Shorts

And finally, my most-worn pair: the Levi’s 80s Mom Shorts. These fit like an absolute glove. The way they come up in a slight V-shape at the waist is chef’s kiss—so flattering and just the right amount of structure. They’re that perfect balance of fitted and relaxed, making them an easy go-to for any summer outfit.

To Wrap Up This Post About These Summer Shorts

So there you have it! Five pairs of shorts that are thick-leg girl approved, summer-ready, and guaranteed to be on repeat. Hopefully, this was helpful in taking the guesswork out of finding shorts that actually fit and feel good.

your gut is linked to nearly every facet of your health from your immune system to your mood & healing it is one of the most important steps we can take to ensure lifelong health & wellness.  i jumped into Arbonne's GGG after struggling with years of eczema flair ups. drinking the Green Gut Glow consistently & my eczema is completely gone.  i've also lost  7lbs of bloat & inflammation. turns out "listening to your gut" is pretty good advice after all.
